How dial units work

A pen is graduated in dial units, not millilitres, which is the single most common source of confusion.

Reference only. This page covers what the compound is, how it is presented and how it is handled. It does not give dosing protocols or administration schedules, and it is not medical advice.

The conversion

Every pen in this range moves 0.01 ml per dial unit. The milligrams that represents depends entirely on the pen's own concentration, so the same dial number means different amounts on two different pens. Read the strength off the label rather than assuming it carries across.
